Cow Story

Check this page periodically to see our featured cows. We strive to provide the best for our ladies, and each one has a unique story!

“Seltzer” for short. Her full name consists of her prefix (Stil-Dreamn) this accredits the farm responsible for the mating and is very important for marketing genetics. Her middle name (Ringer) is her sire’s short name. The number attached to the end (VG86) is her classification score. This is a number associated with how structurally correct a cow is and is easily interpreted as how pretty she is. VG stands for “Very Good”. Receiving a classification score of Very Good after having only 1 baby is indeed Very Good! The maximum classification score for a first calf cow is 89. Cows cannot receive a score of 90 until they have calved more than one time.

Born March 1, 2023. Seltzer has always had a loving personality and attended her first fairs at just a couple of months old.

In 2024 Seltzer received an injury from the tornado that took out our haybarn. We assume her ear was sliced by flying debris. Very thankful she was not impaled!

Seltzer and her mother, Sleet, have both been caught taking selfies.
